In September 201g, the declaration, gearing up for a decade of action and delivery for sustainable development was ac00ted at the United Nations General Assembly.
Today, progress is being made in many places, but overall, the action of achieving the goals is not yet progressing at the pace or scale it should With only 8 years left an ambitious global effort is underway to deliver on the 2030 promise by mobilizing more governments, civil society, businesses and calling on all people to achieve the Global Goals themselves.
The Decade of Action calls for accelerating sustainable solutions to the world’s biggest problems, from poverty and gender to climate change, and inequality, and closing the financial gap.
Global action to secure greater leadership, more resources, and smarter solutions
Local action embedding the needed transitions in the policies, budgets, institutions, and regulatory frameworks of governments, cities, and local authorities.
People’s actions, including by youth, civil society, the media, the private sector, unions. academia and other stakeholders, to generate an unstoppable movement pushing for the required transformations.
